Auditions for Oak Grove’s 2024 Season

– You don’t have to stay the whole time or come both days.
– Casting is for all five shows scheduled for the upcoming Summer Season.
– Those interested in auditioning for both the plays and the musical should audition both days.
– Musical auditions are separated from the plays.
– You will be auditioning Director selected pieces from the shows (except the musicals, see below)
– There will be time for you to practice selections and to join up with other folks for those selections (We have helpers to help you find audition partners and get in the queue).

• MUSICAL AUDITION DETAILS • 
– Prepare a vocal selection, preferably 15-20 bars long, showing your range in a modern show and/or from NTN. For Putnam, we ask that your vocal selection be in the style/attitude of the character you are most interested in portraying.
– Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. We will also have a speaker, cords, and/or a CD player if you have your own accompaniment.
– You will be asked to read and/or sing from the script.
– All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Non-traditional casting will be considered. Those interested in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee must be over 18.
– There may be a short dance/movement audition. Please wear something you can move well in.
